# Hoodpaper

Set in the early 2000's in the rural South American town of Queso, **Shiba Cartel** is a complete cartel strategy game and **ecosystem** built on the [Arbitrum](https://www.arbitrum.io) blockchain and **powered by NFTs**. Collect different Shibes to build your Cartels power, dominating the local markets as you engage in all manner of **illicit activities** ranging from drug dealing and prostitution to human trafficking and murder-for-hire.

### Recruit some Shibes to help grow your new Cartel.

Cartels typically rely on a lot of **dogpower** to help with all that murdering and drug dealing, that's where the Shibes come in. Shibes are versatile little four-legged creatures, as **violent as they are adorable**. Available in a mixture of styles and appearance choices, with **game-altering** traits and attributes, the **Shibes** are the foundation of all *good* Cartels.

**Shibes** can be sent on Missions around the hoods of Queso to earn different strategic resources like $ARMS, and even **capture entire $HOODs**. They can be sent to battle with rival Cartels seeking to take your hard earned $HOODs, and **earn new $HOODs** by defeating them.

Like humans, Shibes have bloodlines, and like humans, **Shibes** like *to do it like they do on the discovery channel*. **Breed your Shibes** to gain new Shibes with traits and attributes that can help your Cartel grow faster, stronger and **generate more $PESOS**.

### Murder, pillage and torture your way to the top.

Sure you could have your **Shibes** maul rival Cartel members with their bare paws, but you know the old saying - never bring a paw to an RPG fight. Heading to the **Missions** board, you'll find a slew of activities and tasks to send your Shibes out on - missions that change and rotate on a bi-weekly basis.

Missions **pay rewards** in one of the 2 game utility tokens, $ARMS and $HOODS, with $ARMS being the more common reward, and the latter being a rare resource that when "Enforced" can **generate $PESOS** for the Cartel.

Cartels that **earn and stockpile** their $ARMS are able to purchase a range of NFT-based weapons and tools that each give Shibes different bonuses during **Cartel Wars**. For each Handgun in your stockpile your Shibes deal an additional +1 damage for example.

{% hint style="info" %}
$ARMS can be earnt from missions, or bought directly from the stockpile for $PESOS.&#x20;

**$PESOS that are used to buy $ARMS are burnt out of circulation, and $ARMS spent at the Stockpile are also burnt.**
{% endhint %}

### Go to war with rival Shiba Cartels for fame and riches.

Cartels are constantly at war for new territory. Whether they're gunning each other down in the street or leaving limbless bodies swinging from highway bridges, **it's all in honor of life's sweetest treat - el Peso**.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://2523695332-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FEf8FAKU3NHzKC0ehossa%2Fuploads%2F5DuZlycA0h6NscDiDqaf%2FFrame%209.png?alt=media&#x26;token=69c57919-c057-40ac-87d7-c6848ffa3fcd" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Shiba Cartels** are no exception to the rule, and the quaint town of **Queso** plays host to violent street brawls on a daily basis. Armed with tools and weapons the Cartel deposits into their **Warchest**, Shibes battle to the death in the name of glory and riches in **Cartel Wars**.

**Cartel Wars** works on a challenge basis, where Cartels pay $PESOS into a **War Fund** that gets listed on the **War Board**. Cartels are able to browse through open challenges and accept them by paying **$PESOS** into their respective War Funds.

After accepting a Cartel challenge, the **War Fund** smart contract plays out a part-random attack sequence with **slightly weighted modifiers** based on the Cartels number of **Shibes** and the various tools and weapons that may be in their **War Chests**.

{% hint style="info" %}
It's difficult to balance a game with both pay to win and player-driven reward elements, and since our game has a payment barrier to entry *(you must recruit at least one Shibe)*, we wanted to soften the modifier effects of things like weapons and tools to even the playing field out a little.\
\
\&#xNAN;*Still.* In testing, this lead to the small (but super unfair) possibility of Cartels with few Shibes (5) and no weapons to score victories and payouts over Cartels with 40 armed Shibes.\
\
To that end, Cartels will only be able to see other Cartels on the War Board whose Shibe count is within 8 Shibes of their own. (i.e \~ if you have 20 Shibes, you'll see Cartels on the War Board that have between 12 and 28 Shibes.)\
\
We believe that's a fair cut off without ruining the overall weights system , time will tell and we can adjust accordingly.
{% endhint %}

### Your Cartel’s $HOODs generate mucho $PESOS.

When Cartel's capture $HOODs during missions or Cartel Wars, they're able to claim those HOODs as their own territories. After claiming the HOODs, Cartels will begin to earn $PESOS every day from their territory, increasing the amount of $PESOS generated per HOOD claimed.

<figure><img src="https://2523695332-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FEf8FAKU3NHzKC0ehossa%2Fuploads%2Ft85Z0u5cWq7MGsqlGiRC%2FFrame%207.png?alt=media&#x26;token=c697dca8-1666-4054-b799-1146ed82d79a" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**$PESOS** can be:&#x20;

* **Freely traded** through SushiSwap.
* Used to purchase **$ARMS** at the **Stockpile**.
* Used to **wager** against other Cartels in **Cartel Wars**.
* **Earnt** by claiming territory.

There are **many more utilities** and paths for the game to take. Increasing the utility of both $PESOS and $ARMS are our utmost priority in terms of developing new features and game elements in the near future.
