# Governance

Decentralized projects distribute tokens to investors and early adopters in exchange for their investment, and similar to traditionally registered organisations, these tokens represent a share of fractional ownership.

*Unlike* traditionally registered organisations, that ownership can be used to help shape the direction of the organisation, it's product development and even it's community growth.

For example, holders of the $PESOS token (our native ERC20 utility and governance token) can access weekly proposals that help shape upcoming gameplay elements like missions, story lines and characters.
